About Forward International Academy
Mission Statement
At Forward International Academy (FIA), our mission is to provide a comprehensive, challenging learner-centered educational experience to students in grades 9-12 across the globe. We are committed to delivering a rigorous American curriculum that prepares our students for success in college and a variety of future paths. Through our collaborative approach, we partner with schools, families, and students to create personalized graduation plans, ensuring a learning journey that is both meaningful and tailored to each student's individual goals and aspirations. We embrace diverse methods of demonstrating academic mastery, including projects, personal interests, and internships, to foster a learning environment that respects and nurtures the unique talents and abilities of each student.

Our Name
The state motto of Wisconsin is “Forward” and reflects Wisconsin's continuous drive to be a national leader and move forward in development and progress. It symbolizes the state's ongoing efforts in industry, agriculture, and education.
Forward International Academy, inspired by Wisconsin's dynamic motto, opens a gateway for its graduates to the myriad of educational and professional opportunities within the state. As students embrace the motto's essence through their studies and internships, they are uniquely prepared to pursue higher education and career paths in Wisconsin's thriving industries and academic institutions. The academy's focus on forward-thinking education ensures that graduates are well-equipped to contribute to and benefit from the state's culture of progress and innovation.
Leadership and Administration
Dave Vitale, Ph.D
Administrator
Dave has over 30 years of teaching and instructional leadership experience. He has developed online schools and programs for multiple levels and has served as director of instruction, technology and innovation. He holds advanced degrees in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Jessica Vodvarka
Director of International Student Services
Jessica brings over 8 years of experience in international college advising to her work, along with a master’s degree in Global Higher Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Jessica has a passion for creating global partnerships and fostering international exchange experiences for students. She has personally hosted international students at her home in Wisconsin, and loves traveling in her free time.
Bing Liang
President and CEO of US University Pathways
Bing Liang is the founder and president of U.S. University Pathways, an educational consulting company creating pathways to foster the international exchange of education in the state of Wisconsin. Bing is also the co-founder of the Midwest Global Youth Academy, which fosters meaningful connections between Wisconsin and global youth through the exchange of language and culture.
Bing earned his Doctoral degree in Higher Educational Leadership at Edgewood College in Madison, WI and his master’s degree in English Education at UW-Platteville. Bing also served on the executive board of the United Nation Association of Dane County. When not working, Bing enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with his family.
